Bone density testing is a medical procedure used to determine bone density or strength. It can identify osteoporosis or osteopenia (a milder form of bone loss) and the risk of future bone fractures. The bone density scan is quick and pain-free.

A DEXA body composition scan can accurately assess percentage of lean muscle, fat and bone in individual body parts and compartments. 

Serial assessments can be made to track changes over time to assist in fitness training, sporting goals or weight loss programs.
